Peter Shmock began developing the Life Athlete in 1975—though he didn’t realize it then. In his attempt to make his first Olympic Track and Field team, he was working harder than ever, but failing to achieve his goals. Something was off. The harder he worked, the worse his results.

Peter came to realize that what he had been taught was simply wrong. Not only wrong, but counterintuitive to what he—and a lot of other top competitors and famous coaches—had always believed. The way of the Life Athlete grew from self-discovery, trial and error, and wise words from great athlete and mentors with whom Peter has worked over the years.

In the four decades since, Peter has continued to develop and improve the Life Athlete: a better way to stay fit, have more energy, and perform better in day-to-day life.
